Apprentice Electrician

Sound Decisions

What I enjoy outside of work is spending time with my family above all, subsistence hunting and fishing are necessary to my lifestyle along with having fun whether it’s riding , sport fishing or hiking. Spending time outside is where I feel at peace.

What got me in the industry was wanting to know how houses and structures all came together so I could build a house on my own and eventually following in my father’s footsteps steps as an electrician!

Where I came from initially was commercial fishing for albacore tuna and Dungeness crab. Learning the way of the sea taught me a lot of valuable lessons and skills in my life. I first started out in construction as a carpenter apprentice learning how to remodel houses. I transitioned into running heavy equipment to a career on the slope as a well support technician making oil. I then decided it was in my best interest to learn a skilled trade I can take anywhere in the world, thus starting my apprenticeship in the ABC!

Something I’m passionate about is my quality of work and making it stand out amongst others. I put my best effort into every task at hand. I am passionate about completing my apprenticeship program while absorbing new skills and knowledge along the way!

What I enjoy about working with SD is hands down the wonderful people that I am lucky enough to call superiors and coworkers! I wake up every day excited, eager, and ready to make them proud! Every project had been an amazing experience and a wealth of knowledge. I enjoy traveling around and seeing different parts of Alaska on our work trips while upgrading remote places and putting smiles on their faces! Working in town is very enjoyable being able to service our community by installing equipment that changes people lives for the better!
