Charles Debach
General Foreman
Charles is a skilled carpenter and equipment operator at SD Construction, dedicated to honing his craft and working toward a leadership role as superintendent. His passion for construction began at a young age, learning alongside his father. In his early twenties, he made the decision to turn that knowledge into a career, drawn to the satisfaction of hands-on work and the camaraderie of like-minded professionals. Over the years, he has gained not only technical expertise but also personal growth, valuing the continuous learning opportunities the industry provides.
Before joining SD Construction in2022, Charles explored a variety of careers, each adding to his diverse skillset. He spent five summers as a commercial fisherman in Cook Inlet, worked as a sous chef in multiple restaurants, raised animals for the Alaska State Fair, and even served as a behavioral health clinician. Through these experiences, he developed a deep appreciation for hard work, adaptability, and service to others.
At his core, Charles is passionate about serving people in any capacity—whether mentoring at his local youth group, helping friends build their homes, or simply cooking a meal to bring people together. His optimism and positive spirit are evident in everything he does, and his SD Construction team can attest to the energy and encouragement he brings to every project.
For Charles, SD Construction is more than just a workplace—it’s a family. “I've been supported through some of the most difficult times here at SD. I really do feel valued as an individual at this company. It’s more than just a job; it’s a community.”
